LONDON / NEW YORK – 27 October 2011 – MTV today announced that the 2011 MTV EMA festivities will kick off with a special pre-show, “2011 MTV EMA Red Carpet Live”, premiering Sunday, 6th November at 8PM CET* and hosted by international presenters Tim Kash (MTV News, E! Network’s Daily 10) and Louise Roe (MTV’s Plain Jane, E!’s Fashion Police). Tim and Louise will give viewers all the up-to-the-minute news and updates from the 2011 MTV EMA red carpet in Belfast, Northern Ireland, as they interview the hottest artists and A-list celebs from around the globe and get audiences hyped for the world’s biggest night in music.
The “2011 MTV EMA Red Carpet Live” pre-show will also feature a performance by chart-topping US singer-songwriter Jason Derulo, who will be taking the stage at Belfast’s iconic City Hall, fresh from the international release of his second album Future History. Additionally, MTV will be revealing the winners of two of the EMA categories during the pre-show – Biggest Fans and Best Alternative – so be sure to tune in and see who comes out on top!

Hosted by multi-talented singer and actress Selena Gomez, the “2011 MTV EMA” will premiere Sunday, 6th November at 9PM CET*. The “2011 MTV EMA” is sponsored by Dell, Replay, Hyundai and Swatch. Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jessie J, LMFAO and Snow Patrol are confirmed to perform, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley and Awkward star Ashley Rickards are confirmed to present. Queen will be honoured with the Global Icon award and will also take the stage for a special performance. More performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. Lady Gaga leads the pack of EMA nominees with six nods, with Katy Perry and Bruno Mars following closely behind with four nominations. Adele, Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds To Mars are each up for three awards.
